Can you guess where I first came across The Law of Attraction? It was on a video about Jim Carrey of all places! I was madly googling words and phrases like, ‘positive thinking’, ‘finding happiness’ and ‘reaching my potential’, when a youtube video of him popped up on my ipad. The way he described his experiences really struck a cord with me and by the end of the clip I was hooked and desperate to find out as much as I could.
How does The Law of Attraction work?
There is a huge amount of information available on the internet about how The Law of Attraction works. As I understand it (and I am still learning daily), it is our thoughts and emotions that attract good, bad or indifferent experiences into our lives. In other words, if we are constantly thinking that we don’t have enough money – we will attract a lack of money. If we can somehow change our mindset about our finances and begin to feel grateful for all the abundance we do have – we will attract more of it. By focusing on what we want, we can manifest them into our reality. WOW!
Jim Carrey describes it like this:
‘Let the universe know what you want, work towards it but let go of how it comes to pass ….open the door in your head and when the door opens in real life – just walk through it.’
How The Law of Attraction is working for me
Since listening to Jim Carrey’s video, I have spent the last couple months reading and researching all I can about this mind-blowing concept. This has been the easy part! The tricky bit has been trying to implement the ideas so that I can manifest the small matter of, ‘the life of my dreams!’. Shortly, I’ll share with you some of the amazing tools and techniques I have used – but first, let me tell you about some of the results I’ve been getting.
I am currently a primary school teacher which I love. However, it doesn’t offer me the financial freedom or flexibility to live my life the way I would like to. This has always been something I have just accepted (after all, not everyone can say they love their job). My plan has always been to teach until I retire and then do all the fun stuff like travel the world. After all, it seemed greedy or selfish to expect more out of life! This is where I would insert all the reasons why I shouldn’t strive for more. It went something like this: I’m not clever enough, I don’t have enough time, I don’t have enough money, I don’t deserve more, I should be satisfied with what I’ve got! The thing is, there isn’t a finite amount of abundance in life – there is plenty for everyone.
Here is my new plan: set up an on-line business, try blogging, become an affiliate marketer, create a passive income, work from anywhere in the world, dream big!
You’re probably thinking that anyone can say these things – how is this The Law of Attraction at work? Well, from someone who is computer illiterate – I have created a website, written 2 blogs and researched different ways to direct traffic to my site, Not bad in a couple of months! But the most important change has been in my overall state of mind. I feel so positive and happy, like I can achieve anything I set my mind to – and it’s all down to Jim Carrey!
Tips for using The Law of Attraction to improve your life
Nearly all the tools I have been using have been taken from an amazing book that I read at the beginning of this journey. This is the only book I have ever read that has had such an enormous impact on my life. It has been the catalyst for all the major changes I’ve been making and is the reason that I have been able to sustain the actions necessary to move forward.
This book is called The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod and I can’t sing it’s praises highly enough. I would love to recommend it to you (using my affiliate link). If you are able to – buy this book! If not, let me give you a summary of the techniques it recommends:
I haven’t reached my destination yet, but I have set off on the journey and you can too. The Law of Attraction has absolutely helped me on my way and I want to spread the message and the joy it’s giving to me with as many people as possible.
